For
the last two years, the MIRBIS Institute in Moscow has been developing
educational programmes within the framework of the Youth Businessman
School dubbed STEP School Technology & Entrepreneurship Program.
Since September 2008, around one hundred high school pupils from twelve
Moscow schools have been trained on a programme called Create Your Own
Business or What A Businessman Should Know. Students who attended
this course gained some theoretical knowledge on the principles of
running and establishing their own business.
In 2009, MIRBIS students participated in the Summer
Business Camp in the town of Alekseevska. There they learnt how to
start their own business, and how to write their own business plan.
Also
in 2009, 10 MIRBIS students participated in the Russian Youth
Entrepreneurship Forum SELIGER 2009 where a number of them presented
their businesses.
MIRBIS was also recently certified as a GET-IT
Centre! MIRBIS will soon be starting the integration of the GET-IT
curriculum within its trainings and the development of a new combined
curriculum between GET-IT and STEP.
Pilot trainings will be run during the 2010-2011 academic year within leading ORT schools, and the programme will be further disseminated in the ORT school network and partner schools during the 2011-2012 academic year.
