Monday, 26 July 2010 15:41

Carolina for Kibera (CFK) through the Taka Ni Pato (Trash is cash) program started the training sponsored by HP, UNIDO and MEA-I among other partners. The program targets young entrepreneurs, young unemployed graduates intending to start businesses or launch a career in IT or otherwise and the volunteers in the organization (CFK) who will primarily be trainers or trainers of trainers in future. CFK works in Kibera and focuses primarily to improve the lives of the people living there socially, economically and culturally.

The first group of the GET-IT students completed their training in June. It is expected that the knowledge they have acquired will be used to improve their business if they have any or will be passed over to others. The next intake commences in August 2010.
Carolina for Kibera is proud to be associated with this important venture and we look forward to working closely with HP, UNIDO, MEA-I and the others.
